About ArtSlippers
We are Artslippers, a company founded by two passionatewomen driven by a love for Kyrgyz felt craftsmanship and a desire to empowerlocal artisans who specialize in creating cozy, handcrafted home slippers. Since 2019, we've been on a mission to bring Kyrgyz felt craftsmanship to the global stage, particularly known for its incredibly comfortable home slippers. We started by opening our online presence on Instagram and
Facebook, allowing us to connect with a wider audience. In April 2019, we launched our Etsy shop, followed by an eBay shop in 2022 through the support of the USAID international trade program.
A Global Community of Felt Lovers. Our dedication has resonated with felt enthusiasts worldwide. We've received over 700 orders from international buyers, with a strong presence in the US and reaching customers in Germany, the UK,
France, Austria, Canada, Australia, and even Israel.
Our Vision
Our story began in 2019 with Elvira Baryktabasova's heartfelt creation. Inspired by a wish to bring comfort to her mother, Elvira embarked on a journey of self-discovery through felting slippers. Fueled by dedication, she honed her skills over five years, learning from online courses and perfecting her craft.
Viktoria Koldasova, with a dream of sharing the beauty of Kyrgyz artisanship with the world, stumbled upon Elvira's work on Instagram. Recognizing the talent and potential, Viktoria knew they had something special.
